These holiday cottages near Forest of Bowland AONB were converted from 18th century barns and stand
in the grounds of Mansergh Charity Farm on the edge of South
Lakeland with lovely views overlooking the canal and towpath to
open countryside beyond. The interiors are of a very high
standard, centrally heated and double glazed featuring pine doors,
natural stone, timber wall panelling and retain many of the
original oak beams which add to the warmth and character of the
properties. Each of the cottages has its own garden with picnic
table and barbecue.
- All
cottages are non smoking.
- There
is a week day delivery of milk and newspapers (except
Saturday & Sunday).
Advance milk orders can be arranged.
- Dogs
: One dog may be allowed by arrangement at the time
of booking. Owners are asked to ensure that they
are kept off beds and furniture and not left unattended
in the cottages. They should be under strict control
at all times in the grounds, walks available close
by.

Heating
- The cottages are equipped with gas central heating and all
windows are double glazed.
Living Rooms
- Have comfortable seating for
everyone. Dining table and chairs, coffee table, fitted carpets
and a selection of books, games, colour T.V and DVD.
Bedrooms
- Beds have interior sprung
matresses, pillows, sheets and duvets. There are bedside lamps
and ample clothes accommodation in each room. Floors are fully
carpeted. Hairdryer provided.
Bathrooms
- All bathrooms
have an over bath shower, hand basin, W.C and shaver sockets.
Kitchens
- Fully fitted with formica working
surfaces, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, microwave, electric
kettle and gas cooker with 4 rings, grill and oven. The units
contain cutlery, china, glasses, casseroles, saucepans and normal
cooking utensils. House cleaning equipment is provided.
Linen - We supply a weekly change of sheets,
pillow cases, towels, bath mat, table cloth and tea towels.
Laundry
- Each cottage has a washing machine. Shared tumble dryer.
Cots - A drop sided cot with mattress (no
bedding) and a high chair together with a stair gate and fire
guard are available on request.
The cottages sleep from 4 -6 persons.
Available on request are cots, high chairs, stairgates,
fireguards
and Z beds (up to age 12). All fuel is included in the price.
